Living Education
Living education is Mason's claim that education is a life. The mind feeds on ideas, not on information dumps. Living books, nature study, and real handwork are the usual fare.
A living-education school puts a wide feast on the timetable: literature and history from whole books, nature work outdoors, picture study, composer study, and handicraft treated as real subjects. The point is not to cover a test blueprint. The point is that the child meets worthy ideas and tells them back.
You can hear the difference on a tour. Ask which books are on desks this term. Ask whether nature study is weekly. If the program is a worksheet spine with a Charlotte Mason label, you have kept the brand and lost the practice.
