Charlotte Mason curriculum for multiple ages
Teach history, geography, Bible, literature, picture study, music, poetry, nature study, handicrafts, Shakespeare, hymn study, scripture memory, and foreign language together. Teach math, science, and language arts per student. That split is the actual answer. Most product pages never say it plainly.
Topic-based versus skill-based
Topic-based subjects share a time period or a composer. A first grader and a seventh grader can look at the same Velázquez and hear the same Bach. Narrations will differ. The feast is the same.
Skill-based subjects do not share a lesson. A child who cannot yet decode cannot sit in a seventh-grade dictation. Science labs can sometimes combine; the reading level usually cannot.
How the products map
Simply Charlotte Mason is built on that split: one history stream, one enrichment stream, then Individual Studies by grade. AmblesideOnline assigns years, so mixed-age homes run more than one year at once or combine years on purpose. Alveary and A Gentle Feast use Forms rather than a single family stream for everything.
